 She was a tall, energetic and a rather clumsy person  Her education was through tutors and also her self studies

 She first learnt Latin after her father made her, then she went on to personally learn English, German, Italian and some spanish  A family friend encouraged her to go on and learn math, and she enjoyed it very much.  Math and philosophy became her main subjects  She also studied fencing, riding and gymnastics

 She married Marquis Floret-Claude Chastellet, a military man. H › He was also governeor of Semur-en-Auxious › He spent a lot of time away on garrison duty  She had 4 children, but only two survived › Her third child died the same year he was born
