METRC Innovation Awards Funding available to help companies to innovate University – Industry collaborative research and innovation projects
METRC Innovation Awards Nanotechnology, science and engineering Small feasibility project to test out a novel idea Small proof of principle study
METRC Innovation Awards Any company can apply; preference given to SMEs METRC can help companies to find suitable academics and vice-versa Or companies and academics can apply together directly
Eligible universities
Funding Each METRC Innovation Award is worth £5K This must be matched by at least £5K cash from the company Money is awarded to the academic to carry out the project
Example 1 Company A and Prof X want to investigate raw materials from sustainable sources 1 x METRC Innovation Award £5K funding + £5K cash match from company = £10K to spend on project
Funding In some cases it will be possible to apply for more than one METRC Innovation Award at once BUT the company must match in cash the total value of the Awards applied for
Example 2 Company B and Prof Y want to investigate suitable materials for sensing applications Company B and Prof Y only need to fill in one application form and not 4 4 x METRC Innovation Awards £20K funding + £20K cash match from company = £40K to spend on project
