Aim of the project Development of treatments for potential gemstonematerial found in association with mines in Scandinavia.

Exampels on Scandinavian gemstones. Sweden: Garnets, Apatite, Smokey quartz, Rockcrystal, Rosequartz, Amethyst, Tourmaline, Spinel, Epidote. Finland: Ruby, Sapphire, Garnets, Iolite, Amethyst, Diamonds, Spectrolite. Norway: Garnets, Ruby, Iolite, Rockcrystal, Spinel Greenland: Ruby.

Iolite is extremely pleochroic

Apatite is a very different material than iolite. Softer, less stabile.
