CETLs at the University of Plymouth Dr Liz Beaty Director of Learning and Teaching HEFCE

The CETL process 256 stage 1 bids 105 stage 2 bids 74 CETLs Thousands of eligible departments

Education for Sustainable Development Experiential Learning in Environmental and Natural Sciences Higher Education Learning Partnerships (HELP) Placement learning in Health and Social Care A total investment of over £18m across 5 years. One of only two institutions to be awarded 4 CETLs.

The CETLs (1) Encompass the full range of subjects, styles of learning and types of institution. Supported by the HE Academy, have the potential to effect substantial change in UK HE. Reward excellence within institutions. Are something to be proud of.

The CETLs (2) CETLs with which Plymouth has a collaborative involvement Liverpool Hope – LearnHigher Other CETLs with related themes Leeds – Inter-disciplinary ethics across subject disciplines Manchester – CETL in enquiry based learning Coventry – CIPeL Will there be more CETLs? Possibly 24 further CETLs were announced in the Skills White Paper – linked to Sector Skills Councils. We are awaiting a funding announcement. HEFCE intend to bid for another full round, depending on the outcomes of ongoing evaluation.
