No Small Talk

Mechs Culture Design – Hard working – Efficient – Karoshi – Resources are extremely valuable – Technologically advanced – Organized – Selfish and lonely – Socially Primitive don’t use many words Waste of resources (words and time)

Problem Get information from the Mechs – How to use an object “x” – Where to find their leader Bennet’s Stage of Integration – The users have to adapt their conversation pattern to the “mechs style” We want the user to learn: – How to adapt to a different style of communication

Engagement Scenario Outline Story Outline: – You enter a factory. Everyone is busy and working. – In the first approach you make, they ignore you. But then they say if you want to talk, you need to deserve it (helping them in the factory) – You do a small task for one of them. – Then one of them talks to you – You need to be able to properly talk to him Choosing the right answer from a set of available actions

Engagement Scenario Outline If you say the wrong thing – they will think you are wasting their time start ignoring you again – You need to help them again If you say the right thing – They will give you a small piece of info End Event: – You are able to get the information you want – However, the information is quite short in words You might need some thinking to understand what it means – Another Engagament Scenario?
