Events over the Summer 1. Monetary policy meetings of central banks

2. S&P downgrades US credit rating from AAA – As you can in the previous slide, this sent the DOW Jones Industrial Average spiraling down. – Back in April US debt was trillion – US debt in September is over 14.7 trillion

3. Obama went before Congress in September to push for a $447 billion package of tax cuts and new government spending. This will likely find political opposition since it involves mostly the wealthy population of Americans. to push for a $447 billion package of tax cuts and new government spending. American Jobs Act

Future What the Fed Gov decides will affect us a lot. Jobs Situation/Unemployment Rate. European Debt Crisis and how that will affect US. Obama’s American Jobs Act and whether or not it will pass through Congress.
