GENERATION Y Millenials/ Generation Y Grew up in an era of expanding cultural diversity and globalization Technologically adept group (had to keep up with technological advances) Experienced economic recession/ economic crisis High awareness of environmental issues (Justice on 2 levels) Values – Live first, work second – Social causes – Flexibility – World travel – Diversity

Generation Y Characteristics Optimistic/ moral Confident – well developed self esteem Culturally aware and diverse Skilled networkers tech savvy/connected Multi-taskers Team players Global citizens

Generation Y Influences Global terrorism (9/11, Iraq) Domestic terrorism (Columbine, school shootings) Technology Facebook, Twitter, texting Emphasis on Civic responsibility Environmental concerns
