Regional Science Liaisons (RSLs) and Superfund and Technology Liaisons (STLs) The RSLs are a team of 10 senior scientists, one in each of the ten Regional Offices. The four core RSL activities are: (1) communicate and transfer ORD science products to the Regional Offices (2) manage the Regional Applied Research Effort (RARE), Regional Methods (RM), Regional Research Partnership Program (RRPP), and Regional Science Workshops (3) support Regional Office participation in ORD research planning and Agency decision making.
ORD senior scientists and engineers located in the ten EPA Regional Offices - focus on hazardous waste issues Superfund and RCRA Program was created jointly by ORD, OSWER and the Regional office in 1990 and is managed by the Office of Science Policy Coordinate technical support, including site-specific technical support, through ORD’s Technical Support Centers/ Agency sources of expertise - Superfund and RCRA Programs Facilitate technology and information transfer from any relevant and credible environmental resource through many venues including conferences, technical workshops and publications
Engaging the EPA Regions early and throughout the process Enhance communication opportunities throughout life-cycle of grant Encourage grantees to update interested Regional staff on progress Consider cooperative agreements where appropriate Consider additional vehicles for application of promising grant products
