Introduction to the Faculty: The Faculty of Education of Bologna focuses on teachers’ formation, social workers and community educators’ formation, on human resources and lifelong learning as well. Around the halls you can meet many different kind of students, by students from high schools to mature students who need a career improvement or change.

Our Degrees are: 3 Years Undergraduate Degrees (I Level Degree Courses): Social Educator (Bologna and Rimini campus)‏Social Educator (Bologna and Rimini campus)‏ Infant and Nursery School Teacher Teacher Trainer (Human Resources Promotion and Development)‏Teacher Trainer (Human Resources Promotion and Development)‏ Cultural Operator (Expert in Education Sciences)‏Cultural Operator (Expert in Education Sciences)‏ 4 Years Degree (I Level Degree Course): Primary School Teachers Training 2 Years Graduate Degrees (II Level Degree Courses): Pedagogy Pedagogy Lifelong Learning and Media Education 1 Year Master (I Level Master Course): Master for Educators experienced in International Cooperation

Social Educator (Bologna and Rimini campus): This course is recommended for those who wish to work in social services focused on prevention and reduction of discomfort (deficit, disadvantage, handicap, ageing, post-trauma or post-accident interventions) or for promotion of interculture, and also for social services for prison inmates and services dedicated to the drug addiction and mental discomfort. This Degree Course aims to train professionals capable of dealing effectively with personal and social discomfort by combining specific educational skills and knowledge with the work of other operators (sociologists, psychologists). Infant and Nursery School Teacher This Degree Course is devoted to people who wish to work as educators in nursery schools and related services (children's areas, centres for children and parents), in experimental services and in babyhood recreational services. This Degree Course trains an Infant Teacher and provides him/her with the necessary skills and knowledge on children (age 0-6) as well as the necessary knowledge on management of educational aspects of babyhood. Knowledge is also extended to that relating to historical, legislative and sociological aspects of infant teaching services, taking into account their present day structure at both national and regional level: crèches, recreation centres for accompanied children, house services and so on.

Teacher Trainer (human resources promotion and development): This course is designed for those who wish to work as teachers, trainers or instructors in companies, and public administration bodies in permanent, continuing and recurring education. This Degree Course aims to train professionals capable of working in the sector of vocational training and permanent education in general in a society undergoing a continuous and increasingly faster change in the sectors of labour, culture and social organisation. Cultural Operator / Expert in Education Science This course is designed for those who want to work in the services and structures of private companies and public administration, in the sectors of educational publishing and "Media Education", in museums services, in environmental education and sustainable development projects.

Pedagogy: EXPERT IN SOCIO-EDUCATIONAL SERVICES ON THE TERRITORY This curriculum will train professionals capable of carrying out qualified research and analysis in the main sectors of pedagogy, psychology and philosophy of education. They will have the skills required to plan educational interventions for both public and private organisations. Lifelong Learning and Media Education: Path One: "EXPERT IN PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT" Path Two: "EXPERT IN MIGRATION PROCESSES AND CULTURAL MEDIATION"

Academic Year: The Academic Year starts at the end of September, and is divided into 2 semesters. Each semester is divided into smaller units, in particular: 1 A: end September – end October 1 B: November – mid December 2 A: end January – beginning March 2 B: mid March – beginning May 2 C: beginning May – beginning June

Tuition and Choice of Courses: All the degree programs in our University have a credit and modular structure. Our module units have usually a value of 5 ects. They usuallly last about 5 weeks, which means about 30 hours, 3 days per week. Students can also take laboratories and seminars which are usually worth 2 ects each.
