You hold a higher degree or equivalent OR have made significant progress towards a doctoral qualification Please note: If you are on a continuing contract and do not hold a PhD, approval for promotion must be given by the Vice-Chancellor.  Do you meet the promotion criteria? o You have performed at a high level in either Teaching & Learning OR Research/Creative Works as applied to Level A duties; and o You have performed at a satisfactory level in Service and either Teaching & Learning OR Research/Creative Works as applied to Level B duties.  You must be able to meet BOTH criteria

Leadership in maintenance of academic standards AND D Development of curriculum / programs of study. Significant scholarship in teaching and learning locally or nationally AND C Course / year / program co-ordination. Scholarship in teaching and learning AND B Undergraduate and postgraduate unit co-ordination. Curtin University is a trademark of Curtin University of Technology CRICOS Provider Code 00301J July 2011Academic Promotion to Level B After the meeting:  The Head of School completes their assessment and recommendation  The Head of School submits their recommendation to the Pro Vice-Chancellor  If the applicant is on a continuing contract, does not hold a PhD and the Pro Vice-Chancellor recommends for promotion, the Vice-Chancellor’s approval must be obtained  Within 2 months of the promotion discussion, the Pro Vice-Chancellor will advise you, the Head of School and the Academic Promotions Unit of the outcome  Where promotion has not been approved, the Head of School will provide you with written feedback  If successful, promotion will be effective from the first day of the pay period commencing on or after the date of approval by the Pro Vice-Chancellor  The Unit will notify the Vice-Chancellor and the Manager Remuneration Services
