Agenda Wrap Up of Term 4, 2004 CC Day Term Technology Update Sydney Region T4L Hardware: Apple and ASI are the two vendors providing hardware on the Technology for Learning rollout for Sydney Region. This session will look at the offerings from both vendors. Office Tips and Tricks: This session covers both Mac and Windows versions. Sydney Region DET Portal Access to the DET Intranet is now available from home via the DET portal To access the portal you will need to enter the username and password used to access Leave on line. An increasing number of Intranet sites are becoming available through the DET portal

Sydney Region TARDIS The TARDIS website is designed to assist with communication of Technology related news and issues within NSW Department of Education and Training by DET employees. You will need to sign up to the website using your DET User ID naming format (the one you use to check your Leave Balance) if you wish to contribute to the forums, but you can read all the content without signing up. Please note that you can't use your actual DET User ID as full stops are not treated as valid characters. You will need to use a valid account as an activation link will be sent to that account. If you are unsure what your DET User ID contact the DET Helpdesk on You can join in with conversations by accessing the TARDIS Forums. The forums are moderated and designed for professional dialogue focused on technology related topics.

Sydney Region Computer recycling This organisation has provided this service in Sydney Region (Windows systems only) with favourable results. All items for pickup must be intact. All inclusive computer pickup and recycling fee is $95.00 Jobs that take more than 1 hour to complete will be charged at $45.00 per half hour thereafter. Payment is required at time of pickup via cheque, money order or cash. “With our past history of pickups, we take on average 1 hour to complete a load of PC's and 20 monitors to our vehicle, (depending on building access).”

Sydney Region Technology for Learning (T4L) Update  ASI computers are to be rolled out this term in Sydney Region  Information is available on the Sydney Region Intranet site. This site contains Frequently asked Questions and checklists for school use.
