Welcome to Honors Forensic Science

Class info Lab safety and Safety Contract Parent Permission form Syllabus and Notebook Set Up Class Organization

Class organization 1. This class is going to be awesome!   2. This is an Honors level class. Expect homework almost every night. Expect a quick pace. Expect tough tests. If you can’t commit to that, switch out now. 3. All powerpoints, labs and readings are on our class website. You are expected to complete all homework on time. Often the lab for the day will be based on the reading or pre-lab work you did the night before. 4. Absolutely no food. This is for your safety. 5. Water in closed containers only and not at all during labs.

Class organization 6. Absolutely no cell phones. If I see it, it’s mine. 1st time you get it back at the end of class. After that, it goes to the office. There will be some times when you can use them for their cameras or calculators. I will let you know when it is okay to use them.   7. No sleeping, talking out of turn, doodling, goofing off. You are here to learn forensic science and you will. 8. The sinks and under the desks are part of the lab – not trashcans. I’m going to check under the tables periodically. If your table has trash under it, guess who gets to clean it out? 9. Bathroom/water breaks – not the first or last 15 minutes – school rule. If you need to go, let me know. One at a time is fine. Take the pass. If you aren’t back in a couple of minutes, I will come hunt you down.

Class organization 10. Be prepared for class. I work really hard to make sure that I’m ready for you. Make sure you are ready for me and the rest of your classmates. Nothing makes me want to give a pop quiz like people goofing off or not being prepared.   11. This class is going to be as fun as you let it be. Let’s have a great semester!
