How do pathways apply to dance? Watch as an example of pathway dance: Drawn the studio number the walls and corners and label the stage directions With draw a pathway on your map of the studio Walk your pathway at least 5 times. Make sure you can travel you pathway with out looking at your map. Put the following movements on your pathway: coupe, passe, degage, chaine, saute arabesque, echappe, spiral to the group, battement. The movements do not have to be in any order. Add transitions, levels and shapes to your pathway to create an interesting movement study. Think about what the audience is going to see.
