Classroom Materials Required One 100 page spiral notebook Donations Markers Crayons Glue Loose-leaf paper Pens and Pencils Classroom Topics General Geography The World : Physical The World : Political Highlights of the Continents Early Tourism Creating a Travel Advertisement Creating a Travel Itinerary Types of Tourism Making a Travel Journal Careers in Hospitality and Tourism Dear Parent or Guardian and Student, Welcome to Exploratory World Cultures C, a class where you will explore the world and record your findings in your notebook. We will record our most important tourism facts about countries and people all over the world. During our travels, we will learn bits of language, history and culture in order to better understand our own culture as Americans. We will follow the National Geographic Standards that are attached to this syllabus. Grades: 15% Vocab and Topic Quizzes, 25% Tests, 30% Participation, 30% Notebook and Presentations Homework Students will complete study homework some Wednesday nights and written homework most Thursday nights. There will often be a vocabulary and fact quiz on Thursdays and a test on Fridays. The quizzes and test will only cover the material introduced during that week. A quiz score will be awarded weekly for classroom decorum. Students will have a mid-term and a final drawn from the activities /assessments of the semester.
