CLASS II DIVISION II 48 YEAR OLD FEMALE Start One of the usual characteristics of a CL II DIV II is a closed vertical. In most closed verticals it is the mandibular arch that contributes to the problem. However in this case the upper centrals are the contributing factor. They are holding the mandibular arch back. This patient was having extreme TMJ pain due to the malocclusion. This patient was having severe crepitus and muscle trismus.

Start CLASS II DIVISION II 48 YEAR OLD FEMALE Please note that the springs are behind the arch wire. The crooked teeth, the upper centrals, are NOT tied into the arch wire. The arch wire being used at this time is a.016 Niti.

CLASS II DIVISION II 48 YEAR OLD FEMALE Start The adjustments for soft tissue are shown here. The adjustments are made with our Custom Fine 70X Optical plier. The springs are adjusted for the comfort of the patient and can be easily made while in the mouth. The textbook will show how adjustments are made.
