Transportation Tuesday TRANSPORTATION TUESDAY Behind the Wheel ? Keep your cool! Who is in control? You or Your frustration?

Transportation Tuesday We have all at some time, cursed/been mad at another driver while driving! Banged our fists on the steering wheel, shouted out the window and worse. Control is the key to survival ! WHY?

Transportation Tuesday Can cause unwise decisions that puts safety at risk. Frustration!

Transportation Tuesday Common source of frustrations! Driver’s caught in heavy traffic. Caused by other drivers: –Driving too slow –Driving haphazardly/fast –Cutting your vehicle on the road and failing to use signal lights –Tailgaters/Road Bullies Poorly maintained vehicle resulting in poor operational efficiency.

Transportation Tuesday Frustrated/Aggravated ? Don’t react aggressively! Maintain your composure. Back off, don’t make eye contact or gestures of any kind to the offending driver. A negative reaction will only get another one – and it’s dangerous because you could become out of control!

Transportation Tuesday Remember! Patience is not only a virtue, it is also a practice, useful and necessary when driving!

Transportation Tuesday When frustration builds up …. Stay cool and composed Turn on your favourite radio station. Talk to your passenger, keeping your full attention on the road When being tailgated, let the other vehicle pass. Simple solutions can go a long way to diffusing your frustration!
