Turnstile Finish Options

Galvanized Finish Galvanization is a process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, in order to prevent rusting The appearance can be bright and shiny, spangled, matte gray, or a combination of these.

Galvanized Finish The finish will change over time due to weathering – but the appearance has no effect on the corrosion performance. Galvanizing is cost-effective, low maintenance, corrosion resistant and self-healing (scratches & cuts in coating).

Galvanized Finish Minimum standards: Provides continuous coverage free from uncoated areas Reasonably smooth and uniform (minor roughness is acceptable) Free from peeling and flaking

Galvanized Finish Acceptable finishes Small blemishes Streaks & strikes in finish Rough coating Shiny vs dull is acceptable as long as adequate coverage Repair work done to chips or non-galvanized areas

Galvanized Finish Ideal for applications where emphasis on cost & aesthetics is low, but durability is high: Manufacturing Industrial Petrochemical Transit Distribution centers

Powder Coated Finish Powder coating is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder that is cured under heat to form a “skin”. Powder coating is a high quality, durable finish available in a limitless range of colors and textures. It is a more resilient finish than liquid paints and therefore has a reduced risk of scratches, chipping, abrasions, fading, etc.

Powder Coated Finish Ideal for applications where emphasis on aesthetics and durability are high: Education Corporate headquarters Transit Distribution centers

Stainless Steel Finish There are different grades and surface finishes of stainless steel. Boon Edam offers #4 and #8 finishes: #4 Brushed Finish – not highly reflective; ideal for applications with fairly rough handling #8 Satin Finish – buffed finish with high degree of reflectiveness and clarity (a true mirror finish) #4 Brushed Finish #8 Satin Finish

Stainless Steel Finish Stainless steel is corrosion and staining resistant, low maintenance and very aesthetically pleasing. Applications: Education Corporate headquarters Transit Distribution centers

Anodized Aluminum Finish Anodizing is a process used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts. Anodizing increases corrosion resistance and wear resistance, making the metal less likely to crack and peel from aging and wear.

Anodized Aluminum Finish Ideal for indoor or outdoor applications where emphasis on aesthetics are moderate and durability are high: Education Corporate headquarters Distribution Perimeter

Transparent (Lexan) Finish Our transparent Lexan finish is a made from a polycarbonate material. Unique combination of high impact strength, flame retardancy and thermoformability makes it ideal for security applications.
