LE TG improvement process –We have exist the Letter Ballot 24 We have to make serious improvements to h draft and the high number of Action Items was incompatible with a stable draft –Last official draft: IEEE h / D2b created by Xuyong Wu, h Editor –Comments were requested Data-base: IEEE h-07/014 –108 comments –Call for Replay comments Dead-line: today at noon San Francisco time –15 Contributions
Activity between meetings Minutes of the Meeting #49 –IEEE h-07/012 Teleconferences organized by the TAG Chair – Steve Shellhammer –Be-weekly teleconferences –Good progress in establishing the parameters for coexistence simulations of both and systems Focus on 3.65GHz
GHz in US FCC has re-affirmed the shared usage of the band –Maximum peak power is attractive 25W e.i.r.p. peak / 25MHz for BS and Fixed stations 1W e.i.r.p. peak / 25MHz for Mobile stations Two mechanisms for coexistence –Operator coordination Supported by a data-base with locations of BS and Fixed stations –Contention-based protocol Lower 25MHz: restricted-protocols are allowed –Defines events which must occur when two users attempt to simultaneously access the channel –Provides reasonable opportunities for other transmitters to operate Higher 25MHz: un-restricted protocols only –Can avoid co-channel interference with devices using all other types of protocols
FCC view on interference What is “harmful interference” ? –Interference assessment is leaved to operators on the field FCC did not define –Power levels –Temporal characteristics –Protocol approval is in FCC responsibility Discussion on h view will take place according to the Agenda approved by the group –Possibly today afternoon
