Zero Calibration Set the Gain to 6.0dB .500 .400 .300 .200 .100 Set the Gain to 6.0dB Couple the transducer to the 0.200 in step Set Gate 1 so that it surrounds the first backwall echo from the 0.200 in step Use Auto-XX to adjust the gain so that the signal is at 80%

Zero Calibration (cont.) Press the Auto CAL key to bring up the Calibration menu Make sure the CAL Mode is set to Thickness *(If more than just Gate 1 is active you will have other options for CAL Mode) Press [P3] for CAL Zero Enter 0.200 in the dialog box Press the Check key to continue on to the Velocity calibration

Velocity Calibration Couple the transducer to the 0.500 in step .400 .300 .200 .100 Couple the transducer to the 0.500 in step Set Gate 1 so that it surrounds the first backwall echo from the 0.500 in step Use Auto-XX to adjust the gain so that the signal is at 80%

Velocity Calibration (cont.) Press [P2] for CAL Velocity Enter 0.500 in the dialog box Use the right arrow to scroll to Calculate and then press the Check key to complete the calibration *If you are ONLY doing a velocity calibration, press Check to continue Adjust the Range back to the starting value of 1.000 in

Calibration Complete! Verify that your unit is properly calibrated by checking the thickness measurement at each step on the block. NOTE: Make sure to move the gate so it surrounds the first backwall echo for each step you are on.
