Fossils By Max Wildt, JAWS 3 rd grade

Intro to fossils Do you know what a fossil is? If you don’t you’ve come to the right place! My project is about Fossils! This is me next to a petrified tree.

What are fossils? 1.Dinosaur bones are fossils. 2.Ancient snails can be fossils. 3.Petrified wood are fossils, too. I’m next to a triceratops skeleton.

How Do Fossils Form? Fossils form when sediment and minerals fill the insides of dead plant or animal material. Then the plant or animal gets rock hard. The animal’s skin decays and their bones get filled with sediment and become fossils. The animal’s skin decays and their bones get filled with sediment and become fossils. What soil fossils form in Fossils form in sedimentary rocks. Those are rocks that are made of mud and sand. Some sedimentary rocks are limestone, sandstone, coal, shale, chert, and conglomerate. Later it forms into dried sediment that has plant and animal materials. Fossils form in sedimentary rocks. Those are rocks that are made of mud and sand.
