Computer Science 2014 Internal Assessment The Solution

IA Overview Provides an original solution or modifies an existing one for a client Requirements the same for SL and HL No mastery aspects 2000 word limit (extended writing) IA is submitted electronically

A – Planning 5-6 marks – scenario described – identified client and adviser – evidence of consultation – choice of product justified – criteria for success

B - Solution Overview 5-6 marks – complete record of tasks – design overview – clearly shows how the product was developed – outline test plan

C – Development 9-12 marks – high level of complexity/ingenuity – appropriate use of tools – all techniques explained – all sources identified

D - Functionality and Extensibility of Product 3-4 marks – video shows that product functions well – extensibility and modification of product straightforward

E – Evaluation 5-6 marks – fully evaluated with respect to A – feedback from client / adviser – recommendations
