Presentation transcript:

I’m sorry to say, but sadly it’s true, injuries and illness can happen to you. You can get hung up, get your knickers in a knot, or you can ask an OT for help with what you cannot. You may be confused, your mind may race, but rest assured, we rehab at a very fast pace!

We can help in settings much like your home, so that when you go home, you can shower alone. A place you say, where I can fracture a shin? Don’t you dare say that, we teach safe transferring!

With hand rails on your bed, and newly tied shoes, you can steer your wheelchair anywhere, any direction you choose!

Soon you’ll be driving, driving on your own, and you’ll have the freedom to choose where to go. You’ll drive up and down streets, looking with care, just like we taught you when climbing the stairs

Once you are done, you will no longer lag behind, you’ll have strength, speed, and the right state of mind! And wherever you go, you’ll be the best dressed, wherever you go, they will be impressed!

Of course things can happen, and often they do, to determined and impressive people like you. You’ll get mixed up, as you already know, you’ll be challenged in many ways as long as you grow.

Whether you like it or not, alone will be something you might be a lot. And when you’re alone there’s a very good chance, that you’ll have to do something that scares you right out of your pants. So when you are alone, don’t worry or stew, just relax and remember what your OT taught you.

On you will go, and go you will far, and face up your problems, whatever they are. Oh the places you can go! There is fun to be had. There are meals to be made as your role as a dad! You will be as functional as functional can be, all because of your wonderful OT.

Congratulations! Today is your day! You’re discharged from OT, you’ve come along way!
