Bold words Bold words are darker than the rest. Example: Snowy days are fabulous.

Colored words Colored words are usually in a magazine and they’re just like bold words. Example: Gracie, you look gorgeous.

Words to Know Box The words to know box is at the end of a book or page and it has all of the bold words and their meanings. Example: Gorgeous means very pretty.

Table of contents A list of chapters or headings. Example: What Polar Bears Eat page 31

Title A title is on the cover of a book and it tells you the name of the book. Example: The Cricket in Times Square

Italics Italics are slanted words the author wants you to notice. Example: Look at what the new kid is wearing.
