our earth Our Earth is covered with land and water. The land is not the same every where. It has different features and different water bodies. Our earth is covered with land and water . The land is not the same everywhere. It has different features and different water bodies.

Types of land masses 1. PLAINS 2. HILLS 3. MOUNTAIN 4. DESERT 5. FOREST 6. ISLAND

A flat low lying area is called plain . It is good for growing Crops.

Some areas are high and have a pointed top. They are called Hills.

A vast area of land covered with sand and dust is called Desert.

The SKY We live on the earth. When you look up you see the sky. We see different heavenly bodies in the sky during day and night . The sun ,The moon and the star are known a heavenly bodies. Night sky Day sky

The Sun During the day. The sun is a big ball of fire. It is round in shape. The sun is much bigger than the earth. It is very far from us. There fore it looks small from earth

The Moon What do you see in the sky at night? The sun sets and it is dark. This is the night sky. You see a white body. Which changes it’s shape through time period. It is the moon. The moon is smaller than the earth. The moon gets it’s light from the sun.

The moon keeps changing its shape during the month The moon keeps changing its shape during the month .When the moon is full and round is shape, it is called a full moon . Some times we can only see half of the moon. It is then called half moon . When the moon is sickle shaped it is called a crescent moon.
