What are QR Codes?  An abbreviation for Quick Response Codes  Similar to barcodes  Different in amount of information they can hold

Barcodes  Linear one-dimensional codes  Can only hold up to 20 numerical digits

QR Codes  Two-dimensional (2D) matrix barcodes  They hold thousands of alphanumeric characters of information.  Their ability to hold more information and their ease of use makes them ideal for libraries.

Why Use Them?  Kid friendly  Mobile devices  Unusual  Popular

How to Access a QR Code  Must have a mobile device with a camera.  Download a QR Code reader.  Search device app store for “code reader,” “code scanner,” “QR code,” etc.  Neoreader and Googlegoggles are good ones.  Take a picture of the QR Code.
