CHEMICALS AROUND US A.Household (domestic) Chemicals and their classification B.Cleaners C.Bleaches D.Perfumes and Deodorants E.Insecticides

The Effect of Chemicals and Its Prevention

Household (domestic) Chemicals and their classification There is/are things in our house that is/are made of chemicals. Even our body consist of these similar chemicals. Lets to find out the chemicals substances that we use in our house buy some activity

1. Observe things in your house that contain chemicals. 2. Write the chemicals and their contents

1.Chemical from living things (creatures) such as; -gasoline -diesel oil -natural gas 2. Chemical from non-living things -iron -gold. -silver -cupper

A.Cleaners When have the cleaners been started to use in our life? The cleaners have been used by ancient people in a long time ago, they used natural substances (ash) which they get from environment, but now we tend to use cleaners that are made in factories and in various amount. Cleaners are widely used are soap detergent and and other cleaning substances.

1.Soap Soap is made of natural products such as animal fat or plant oil. Soap is made by a reaction that known as saponification reaction, in this reaction fat or oil is reacted with a solution of sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide which produce soap. Type of soap depend on addition substances like cream, perfumes and vitamins Cream is used to smooth the skin, perfume is used for good smelling, and vitamin is used for skin rejuvenation (young body) Thirty always contain oils or fats. Fat and oil are not water soluble, so soup contain oil side to clean this thirty of body or clothes
