DANIEL M. NYANGOYA IT PROJECT TITLE: HEALTH RECORDS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM –NAIROBI CAMPUS

INTRODUCTION Moi university has a health department that offers health services to the students and workers free of charge. It is expected that the university meets the health needs of its population.

PROBLEM STATEMENT The current health records management is cumbersome due to the manual processes involved and this hinders efficient and effective health services delivery.

PROJECT AIM The project aims to enhance effective and efficient health services by computerizing the health records management in terms of recording, storing and retrieval.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES Carry out a detailed investigation on the current health records management processes. Develop a system that allows health personnel to update, retrieve and store patient records. Deliver a detailed project system documentation.

SYSTEM OBJECTIVES Improve retrieval time of health records Improve records security using passwords and back-ups Improve communication and fast decision making in health department Reduce running costs by replacing manual files with e-files.
