Stratford LG PC History Stratford chose LG campus to introduce the PC concept in Spring 2006 Started with a handful of parents who coordinated a few school selected events in spring 2006 Fall of 2006 the group became larger and began developing new event ideas The group has become more experienced and organized every year!

Stratford LG PC Mission The Stratford Parents Committee (PC) is a group of parents interested in fostering a sense of community among Stratford families. We plan and coordinate a variety of events in partnership with the Stratford staff. The Committee provides a communication network to keep parents informed and gives them the opportunity to participate at various levels of involvement. The PC is not a Parent Teacher Association! Work directly with a Stratford staff member for any discussion regarding school curriculum, tuition, policies, etc. Refer to the Stratford Parent Handbook for further information on the protocol for expressing parental concerns

PC Event Planning Philosophy Move away from “tribal knowledge” Document and share event planning details - especially “lessons learned” Secondary event chair to “shadow”/assist a more experienced event chairperson Improve consistency in event planning Utilize & improve upon event planning template – especially financial info Spread the workload among several people Event Chair Treasurer Activity Coordinator Food Coordinator (if applicable) Communications Coordinator Volunteer Coordinator The PC does not host fundraising events. Any charges associated with a PC sponsored event are only intended to recover the costs of the event. Give everyone the opportunity to participate – Rotate positions each year All PC members provide the support needed to make each event successful Have fun!!
