Blockades Britain sets up naval blockade (stops ships) around Germany – thus Germany cant get enough food & supplies Ger also sets up blockade around Britain

Submarines Unrestricted Submarine Warfare: Ger announced that it would sink any ship around Britain w/o warning! Ger subs = u-boats & fire torpedoes

Lusitania On May 7, 1915, Ger sunk this British passenger ship killing nearly 1,200 ppl, 128 were American US was neutral Is this an act of war?

Ger said it was carrying ammunition – which was true! US called for Ger to stop this type of action …. and they do for awhile
