IN THE NAME OF JESUS Jesus gave us the authority to use His name In legal terms, it is called “Power of Attorney”

IN THE NAME OF JESUS Did Jesus really give us authority to use His name? How much “power” does the name of Jesus represent? If yes, then how do we use that authority? What should we expect from using that name?

1. Did Jesus really give us authority to use His name? Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore... Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow (or accompany) those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

2. How much “power” does the name of Jesus represent? ALL AUTHORITY AND POWER THAT JESUS HAD IS INVESTED IN HIS NAME THE MEASURE OF THE ABILITY OF JESUS CHRIST IS THE MEASURE OF THE VALUE OF THAT NAME JESUS GAVE US THE UNQUALIFIED USE OF HIS NAME

Jesus name - In Prayer John 16:24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. WE DO NOT ASK FOR JESUS SAKE. IT IS NOT JESUS WHO NEEDS HIS PRAYER ANSWERED!!

Jesus name - In Prayer John 16:23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. JESUS SAYS ‘ASK THE FATHER, I ENDORSE AND THE FATHER RELEASES!

SO HOW IS JESUS WITH US? Matthew 18:19-20 19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” THE SECRET: JESUS IS WITH US IN THE POWER AND AUTHORITY OF HIS NAME!!!

JESUS HAS GIVEN US A SIGNED CHECK JESUS HAS GIVEN US A SIGNED CHECK! FILL IN THE AMOUNT YOU WANT AND IT WILL BE HONORED!

HOW DID JESUS OBTAIN THIS NAME? THERE ARE 3 WAYS OF GETTING A “NAME” - BY INHERITANCE - BY BESTOWAL - BY CONQUEST

1.BY INHERITANCE HEBREWS 1:1-5 1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.5 For to which of the angels did He ever say:  “ You are My Son Today I have begotten You”?.... VERY IMPORTANT: WHEN DID JESUS INHERIT THE NAME?

HE WAS NOT BEGOTTEN WHEN HE CAME INTO THE WORLD JOHN 1:1,4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God..... JESUS PREEXISTED WITH THE FATHER

JESUS WAS NOT BORN AS HE TOOK ON FLESH HEBREWS 10:5 - 5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:  “ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me.  

THEN WHEN WAS THAT DAY? ACTS 13:33 - God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm:  ‘ You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.’ JESUS WAS BEGOTTEN AT RESURRECTION! JESUS TASTED SPIRITUAL DEATH FOR US ALL!

2. BY BESTOWAL Philippians 2:9-11 - 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

FOR THE CHURCH Ephesians 1:22-23 -And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. GOD HAS MADE THE INVESTMENT IN THE NAME OF JESUS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CHURCH;WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DRAW FROM IT FOR ALL OUR NEEDS!

3. BY CONQUEST Colossians 2:15 - Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 1:13 - He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love JESUS TOTALLY DEFEATED SATAN FOR OUR BENEFIT!!

WHAT TO DO WITH JESUS NAME? ALL IN THE NAME! - Colossians 3:17 - And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. GIVE THANKS IN THE NAME! Ephesians 5:20 - giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

WHAT TO DO WITH JESUS NAME? GIVE THANKS TO THE NAME: Hebrews 13:15 - Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. BELIEVE ON THE NAME: 1 John 3:23 - And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

THE NAME OF JESUS THE NAME OF JESUS BELONGS TO ME! IN THE NAME OF JESUS, I HAVE AUTHORITY OVER DEMONS! IN THE NAME OF JESUS, SATAN, I BREAK YOUR POWER OVER MY SPIRIT, SOULS AND BODY- OVER ANY WAY THAT YOU WOULD TRY TO DOMINATE ME! I PROCLAIM MY DELIVERANCE AND VICTORY, IN THE NAME OF JESUS!!!!
