MY RAMAGAN RESOLUTION 2011 Prepared by: Dr. Abdul Hakim

 I will try to achieve “Taqwa”,  I will try to build my character according to Quran and Sunnah,  I will try to attain perfection,  I will try to increase my spirituality & purify my soul,  I will remember death at least once a day and I will prepare for it,  I will try to lead accountable life until my death,  I will try to protect myself all acts related to shirk / bidat in my rest of the life. A: PRIMARY GOAL

 I will try to perform “Namaz” in “Kushue” (humble), follow the way of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) prayed,  I will try to understand the meaning of “Namaz”, from starting to the end what we recite / read during “Namaz”,  I will try to pray Salatul Tahajjud every night, the last 1/3rd part of the night,  I will try to perform daily “Namaz” in time,  I will try to perform “Namaz” in Jamaat,  I will supplicate in prostrations and other six phases in “Namaz”,  I will never quite “Namaz” in my life, will continue until my last breath in this “Dunia”. B: GOAL RELATED TO SALAH (NAMAZ)

 I will try to read the whole Quran at least once (Tilawat), attend Trarajji prayer to listen whole Quran from Imam’s recitation (if available), and listen audio or video of Quran recitation 1hour prior to Iftar (daily),  I will try to memorize few Suras (Aayaat),  I will try to learn to recite the Quran correctly (Tajweed),  I will try to understand the meanings of the Quran & try to implicate in daily life,  I will try to go through the Tafseer, (collect/manage one set of Tafseer if you don’t have). C. GOAL RELATED WITH QURAN

 I will make daily duas for Ramadan: 1 st 10 days for His Rahmah, 2 nd 10 days for Magferah and last 10 days for Najat,  I will recite duas in Sujud and other six phases in “Namaz”,  I will supplicate for forgiveness for my beloved parents, brothers, sisters, friends, relatives, teachers, neighbors, colleagues, and all Muslim brothers and sisters both who are alive or dead (in my daily 5 prayers and also in Salatul Tahajjud),  I will supplicate during Iftaar,  I will recite duas from Quran & Hadith,  I will try to recite duas with tears in Salatul Tahajjud,  I will recite dhikr: Subhan Allah 33 times, Al-hamdulillah 33 times, Allah Hu Akber 34 times after daily five obligatory “Namaz”. Prior to sleep I will recite: Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azim 100 times. Also: 'La llaha illa-Allahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shai'in qadir' 100 times/day. D: GOAL CLOSER TO ALLAH (SWT)

 I will quit smoking (if I have that habit),  I will control my sleeping habits,  I will eat according to our beloved Prophet (PBUH),  I will eat nutritious as well as healthy foods,  I will eat Halal foods,  I will do some light physical exercise daily E: GOAL ABOUT HEALTH PERSPECTIVE

 I will read some Islamic books,  I will attend Islamic lectures if available,  I will start a study circle or Quran translation program, if possible,  I will browse through Islamic websites,  I will listen to Islamic CDs or audio cassettes during driving or recite dhikr. F: GOAL RELATED TO ACQURING ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE

 I will invite and offer Iftar to some of my friends / Muslim brothers, relatives, colleagues and neighbors,  I will be more generous to relatives, friends, family members, neighbors, and all other people whom I will meet,  I will make strong bond with all relatives,  I will support the needy, poor, helpless, orphans and others who really need it,  I will respect my elders and love for youngers,  I will calculate my Zakat money and distribute it,  I will perform Ummrah (Insha-Allah). G: GOAL CONCERNING GOOD DEEDS

 I will stop telling lies,  I will stop speaking ill of others, gheebat / backbiting,  I will control my temper,  I will stop watching funny / useless TV program, serials, films, etc.,  I will stop vain talk (laghwi),  I will don’t fill jealous or compete with others anything else except two things: acquiring Islamic knowledge and giving charity for the sake of Allah H: GOAL FOCUSED ON TO AVOID BAD HABITS/DEEDS

 I will search it in the odd nights of last 10 days,  I will seek forgiveness for mine, all relatives, friends, teachers, well wishers, neighbors, parents as well al whole Muslim Ummah’s past sins,  I will ask Allah (SWT) for future guidance,  I will recite the Holy Quran,  I will stand in prayers at night. I: GOAL FOR SHAB-E-QADR

 I will control my tongue,  I will control my eyes,  I will control my hands,  I will control my mind and hart,  I will control my foots,  I will control my illegal desire,  I will control my all body limbs and will use them according to the instruction of the holy Quran and Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH). J: GOAL TO CONTROL BODY LIMBS

Oh Allah, give us “tawfique” to full fill all of the above mention goals during the holy month of Ramadan, Oh Allah, grant a certificate of “Taqwa” at the end of Ramadan for all of us who have intention to fast during the holy month of Ramadan, You are the only One Who can provide that certificate, Oh Allah, cure all sick brothers and sisters who are suffering from different disease, so that they can observe fast during the Holy Month of Ramadan, You are the only One Who can cure us, O Allah, protect all of us from violence, fear, danger, trials and tribunals, You are our Protector, Oh Allah, showers your mercy all over the Muslim Ummah during the holy month of Ramadan, You are most Merciful. Ameen, Summa Ameen. MY DUA
