U.S Mobilization of Resources Harman Singh

Overview The U.S did a lot during the war and going into the war. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S had to prepare for war right away. Congress passed the selective service act to bring more men into the military. Some women started to volunteer also. There was a lot saving up to do when the war came. The war was really important so we even save up rations towards food, clothing, and etc.

Who? The U.S and what they are doing to prepare for war. U.S declared war on Japan because of Pearl Harbor. Also declared war on Germany because Japan was an ally. Became allies with United Kingdom, soviet union and others.

What? Selective Service Act Ration cards Training of men during war Becoming allies with the allies Companies making weapons for soldiers. Aircraft production was going on.

When? U.S joined in 1941 and stayed till War started in 1939 U.S joined immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbor. U.S did not know about the Holocaust till being in the war.

Where? The U.S started to mobilize all over their own country after Pearl Harbor. The war was fought everywhere mostly in Europe and Asia and some of Africa. It was a Worldwide War.

Why? The U.S attacked and went to war on Japan but because of allies going on Germany and other nations also declared war on the U.S. After declaring war on Japan, within days Germany declared war on U.S. Another reason was the Lend-Lease Act. (Meaning the US is not neutral no more.)

How? U.S involvement all leads to Pearl Harbor. If U.S didnt get attacked by Japan then we probably would have went to war later or maybe not even go to war. Germanys a ally with Japan and thats the only reason we went to war with them.

Significance to the War My topic, U.S Mobilization of Resources, fits into WW2 because it describes how the U.S got involved in the war and what they did to prepare for it. Preparing wasnt easy because most men were at war fighting and then most women volunteered to help out. The U.S started to make their own aircrafts, navy ships, weapons and supplies.
