- British set up a blockade!!! Stops reinforcements information and supplies - U.S. Navy fails (13 ships go unfinished or destroyed)

Privateers: Privately owned merchant ships (1,000 + given permission) Capture more British Ships than Navy!!

- Serapis Surrenders; Richard sinks; Jones Hero! Serapis Flag This flag was raised by Captain John Paul Jones on the British frigate Serapis.

IMPACT – We are wearing Britain down at sea (at least a little) Are we a world power at sea? Are we getting on Britain’s nerves? Not even close... ABSOLUTELY!
