Pulse Racing You are the manager of a community leisure centre where customer service is of vital importance Its ‘wet’ facilities include a swimming pool, sauna and changing rooms. Its ‘dry’ facilities include a sports hall, gym, squash courts, café and shop. You need to recruit three more members of staff

Pulse Racing - Role 1 Shop assistant Key responsibilities of the shop assistant will be: Selling to customers – helping them choose what they want Serving customers – greeting them politely and making them feel welcome Operating the till – taking the customer’s money and giving accurate change Receiving stock – ensuring any goods delivered to the shop are of the right quantity and quality Displaying the products – putting out the stock and presenting it neatly to the customer to the manager’s satisfaction

Pulse Racing - Role 2 Office Assistant Key responsibilities of the office assistant will be: Membership administration - keeping details of members up to date, sending out information and ensuring fees paid on time Updating the website and on-line communication with customers about the club as directed by club manager Keeping records of all financial transactions including income and expenditure Keeping personnel records – ensuring records are complete on all staff members, filed and organised Ordering stationery supplies and other office supplies

Pulse Racing - Role 3 Assistant manager (Sports Hall and Gym) Key responsibilities of the assistant manager will be: Excellent customer services – programmes put on for customers to ensure as many people as possible participate Excellent facilities – ensuring the hall, gym and equipment are always clean and operational and improved where necessary Allocating work to staff members – making sure that everyone knows their jobs and their shifts Staff members able to perform well – they know how to do their job and they enjoy their work Promoting the hall and gym – making people aware of the programmes and facilities on notice-boards and on the website
