* Adj.- lacking interest, care, or enthusiasm; indifferent or apathetic; automatic, unthinking I feel very angry after I hear the perfunctory opinions that are blurted out throughout the day because no one takes anybody else’s feelings into consideration.

* Adj.- taking or showing extreme care about minute details; precise; thorough * 2. finicky; fussy * While writing an essay, it is important to be very meticulous as we find grammar errors, including comma splices.

* V- to express grief for or about; mourn After the tragedy that occurred on September 11 th, a great deal of lamenting overwhelmed the entire country as citizens felt empathetic for families who lost loved ones.

* Noun- flourishing used in or necessary for a particular activity; equipment While I was at Modell’s, a widely known sporting store, my main intention was to buy basketball paraphernalia but I ended up buying myself a nice new sweatshirt instead.

Adj- dictatorial Adolf Hitler, who ran a very strict, despotic government, was soon killed, and during his leadership, he put his people under an enormous amount of torture that could never be forgiven.

Before the world was fully discovered, Earth was said to be a tangible flat surface until Christopher Columbus proved everyone’s theory wrong, discovering that the Earth is round.

* Adj.- Gratifying to senses; sexy The sensuous woman grabbed the audience’s attention by her new hair do, which everyone absolutely loved, and her face was plastered all over People magazine the following day.

Adj- indicating the most important performer or role, the lead, someone with the qualities of a diva The conceited captain of the cheerleading squad strutted her way down the halls of the school thinking that she was such a prima donna, wearing nothing but expensive jewelry, clothes and makeup.

* Adj.- talkative, wordy, excessively talkative * Our English teacher, Mr. Abrams, can be very garrulous if you have a conversation that highly interests him. * (No offense, it’s not a bad thing).

* N- the way in which words are arranged Sometimes while browsing through Facebook, I wonder if people have ever even just for a few minutes paid any bit of attention in English class because their syntax and grammar are extremely damaged in some of their posts.

* Noun- Wisdom * (Sagacious) * The sagacity of the young woman blew everyone by surprise because she was always so shy and no one really realized how much potential she truly had.

* Adj.- Extremely hungry; famished On Thanksgiving, the ravenous guests ate a huge dinner and suddenly they could no longer button their pants.

The parsimonious man, who used every coupon he could possibly find, still started an argument when he had to pay five dollars for over forty items. Adj.- Frugal or stingy, tightfisted, penny-pinching

Adj.- Highly deadly When I got bit by the snake, I realized that the venom released from his mouth was virulent and I needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible because my life was at risk.
