2 Introduction BIDMC introduces the ability for Attending Physicians to access, edit and sign their Discharge Summaries and Addendums on the Web. Previously, all summaries and addendums were created by dictation and were signed in CCC. Now, Attending Physicians have two options: 1) Web-Based Signing All of the Discharge Summaries & Addendums a physician is responsible for signing can be accessed from the BIDMC Portal. Editing summaries created on the web requires using the this method. Additionally, all dictated summaries can be edited here with a much more user-friendly word processor. This new process offers a significantly upgraded experience over the earlier CCC-based system. 2) CCC-Based Signing Attending Physicians can continue to use CCC to sign their documents and maintain their current workflows and processes. The only difference is that documents created on the web must be edited on the web.

3 1) Click the CareWeb Link on the Left Side of the Portal 3) Enter CCC Key You Will Be Presented With The Patients Assigned To You With Completed Summaries Queued Up For Signature. For Each Patient Choose From the Following Options: 1) Edit and/or Sign the Summary 2) Print the Summary 3) Send a Message to Medical Records Access Documents Needing Signature 2) Select Discharge Summary

4 Edit & Sign Online Documents Select Edit/Sign to be presented with the Summary and several options Links to The Sections of the Summary for Editing Update Allergies Sign Summary

5 Sign The Online Document Click and you will be prompted to enter your CCC key Enter your CCC key and press ‘Enter.’ You will then be returned to the menu of remaining documents awaiting signature

6 Edit & Sign Dictated Summaries Access Data Associated with the Patient’s Stay Edit with a User-Friendly Word Processor Place your cursor anywhere in the text box to edit 5

7 Send A Message To Medical Records You can send a message to Medical Records and remove the summary from your signature queue Access this option from the menu of documents awaiting signature
