 Everything is phonetic  Los Vocales…  AEIOU  Banana, la bamba, samba  Tres, excellente, elefante  Dividir, miami, lidia  Loco, ocho, colorado  Mucho, burro, uruguay

 ‘C’… hard c sound when followed by ‘a, o or u’, soft c sound when followed by ‘e or i’ (caro, corto, cuyo… cero, tocino)  ‘G’… hard g sound when followed by ‘a, o or u’, soft g sound when followed by ‘e or i’ (garaje, gorra, gusano… girar, gente)  ‘H’… siempre silento (hola, honduras)  ‘J’… like an ‘h’ (jota, jarra, garaje)

 ‘LL’… sounds like a y in English (llamo, llano, llanura)  ‘Ñ’… sounds like an N followed by a Y (pestaña, castaño)  ‘Qu’… sounds like an English ‘K’ (que, quien)  ‘V’… sounds like a soft English ‘B’ (veinte, vestido)  ‘Z’… sounds like a soft English ‘S’ (zorro, zamora)  ‘rr’… a trilled ‘r’ sound (carro, aburrido)
