JMIC OSINT DIRECTORIES UNCLASSIFIED DIRECTORIES not a search engine not a display of lists of web pages based on keywords; instead, It lists web sites by category and subcategory. Most web directory entries are also not found by web crawlers but by humans. The categorization is usually based on the whole web site rather than one page or a set of keywords sites are often limited to inclusion in only a few categories. Web directories often allow site owners to directly submit their site for inclusion, and have editors review submissions for fitness. RSS directories are similar to web directories, but contain collections of RSS feeds, instead of links to web sites. A web directory is;

JMIC OSINT DIRECTORIES UNCLASSIFIED DIRECTORIES Advantages and disadvantages of Directories against search engines 1. Usually searching in a topic area and should cut down the number of redundant searches. 2. Despite many directories charging a fee to be included it is not so commercially loaded as search engine inclusion or subject to the manipulation we have seen a before with Google Bombing. 3. The Directories tend to be “owned” and run by humans who have a professional knowledge management pride in their product which gives it more validity. 4. The downside is that the subject you are after may be buried deep in a website and therefore if the title of the site and the info you are after doesn’t match it wont actually find it.
