Royal College of Physicians Census 2006 Almost half of all physicians < 35 are women 6.4% increase in women consultants overall, 12% in Cardiology Eight of 17 new consultant appointments in Cardiology were women, bringing us to 9.1% overall (25% in medicine as a whole) 20% SpRs in Cardiology female in 2006 census

Highlights of 2007 Higher Specialist Training Committee Chairs Qaire 4 new committees reached 25% goal: E. Scotland, N. Ireland, Oxford, SW London 12/22 (55%) always include a woman on appointments committees 18% of current trainees are women ?MTAS 10 flexible trainees currently
