CONGHUA COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM Service Project – Building Project Village discovery Biking

Located in the middle of lush, green hills, Conghua Xitou Village is selected as one of the ‘12 most beautiful villages in Guangdong unveiled’. It is an inspiring landscape for students to engage with nature and the life of rural villages.

Camp Base - Xiyuan Hostel, well located near Xitou Village. We carefully choose hostels which can ensure hygiene and basic standard of comfort, though simple, accommodation.

X ianniangxi is a small village with a history dating back to 400 years ago. Nowadays most of the male villagers went out and worked in cities, so most of the villages left are women, kids and old people. Many of them are still living in old houses. We’ll do service projects in this village.

A huge summer flood washed out many of the locals bridges. that give them access to their crops. So this time we’ll work on some building projects. Those include building new bridges and a concrete road which will replace a muddy road the villagers use to access their crops.

Students can make bamboo furniture & decorations under the guide of local people to decorate the family’s house. It is also an opportunity to show your creativity!

Hiking part of the Gutian - Xitou trail, it's a combination of both hilly route and flat route which could be very beneficial for the students to build up some mountain hike skill. Hike through scene of sandy path, walk along the channel, bamboo forest path, fruit farm, village and some other interesting terrains.

We’ll bike along a newly constructed greenway throughout the Conghua area. The ride will afford students the opportunity to see more than a few views—and maybe spot some plants and wildlife. Afterward, a plunge pool swimming after hiking will be delightful!

Xitou Village is evolved in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and maintains many of its ancient buildings to this day. A village discovery group activity which will give students an opportunity to learn more bout the architectures of the ancient ‘Hakka’ culture, also to take a look at some of the local products.
