When you want to say in French what country you live in you use either: J’habite en… or J’habite au…

You use ‘J’habite en…’ for all countries that have la or l’ eg la France - J’habite en France l’Italie – J’habite en Italie

You use ‘J’habite au…’ for all countries that have le eg le pays de Galles - J’habite au pays de Galles

Now finish this sentence to say which country you are from… J’habite…

When you want to say in French what town you live in you use: J’habite à… eg J’habite à Stenhousemuir

Now finish this sentence to say which town you are from… J’habite à…

We can also join the two sentences together to say the town and the country. eg J’habite à Stenhousemuir, en Ecosse.
