Marton Village Cricket Club 2009

Marton Village Cricket Club Players & Members 2008 Team Photograph taken before the annual ashes match with Birdingbury 2008 In 1984 a local cricket enthusiast and a group of friends in the village put in motion the revival of the lapsed cricket club. A meeting was held in one of the outhouse rooms of the Hare and Hounds, now gone, and sufficient support was present to encourage the clubs re-formation. MVCC today continues to thrive and plays cricket at the local playing fields in Marton, Warwichshire, the club is run as an amateur cricket club playing friendly matches on a Sunday afternoon. In partnership with Marton Playing Fields Association the club hires the pavilion and ground for each home fixture. All the ground work and wicket preparation is carried out by enthusiastic local members and one of our Sponsors carries out pre-season scarifying and feed application to the wicket. During the season the club organises charity matches and donates the receipts to worthy charitable causes.

Our Vision Marton Village Cricket Club, a great place to play and great players to play Our Mission A Cricket Club that is acknowledged for its facilities, sportsmanship, competitiveness and its social contribution to the village and local community.

Development & Business Plan 2009/2010 MVCC faces annual costs to hire the local playing fields and pavilion, purchase maintenance materials, playing kit, player insurance and on-going investment to improve the playing facilities. The elected committee holds monthly meetings to discuss all matters associated with running the club and prepares a bi annual development & business plan. (see enclosed) Critical success factors are identified then priority actions are set to ensure the club thrives in the future. Each season the committee actively identifies a number of fund raising events in order to raise funds to meet the clubs annual running costs. Thanks to the clubs sponsors, past Chairman, committees and players the cricket wicket is greatly improved we now possess one sight screen, line marker, roller and wicket mower. Our future aim is to purchase another sight screen, new cricket shirts, brush cutter and possibly our own outfield mower. This season the committee is discussing the introduction of a health & safety policy, risk assessment arrangement and safe guarding policy (under sixteen's).

Marton Village Cricket Club is offering sponsors: Naming rights Signage at games Branding of umpires' clothes/players' clothes The opportunity to promote product at matches and fund raising events Benefits in kind, e.g free insurance cover with company logo on shirts Supply of materials for wicket preparation Sponsor home fixture cost to MVCC Sponsors alternative agreed proposals Match/ball sponsor Key benefits for the sponsor: Media: logo on all advertisements, posters and stickers Logo on fixture list, logo on annual report Free on-line links via the MVCC website logo in Marton/Birdingbury/Southam monthly news letter inputs Brand/product awareness at home/away fixtures Free invitations to social events
