Week 7 – “Be Like Jesus, Part 1”

John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”

John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

John 15:9-10 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love”

John 15:12 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you”

John 15:11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

John 15:8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness...

L OVE : I unconditionally and sacrificially love and forgive others. Fruit One

1 John 4:10-12 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

J OY : I have inner contentment and purpose in spite of my circumstances. Fruit Two

John 15:11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete

Philippians 4:12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

P EACE : I am free from anxiety because things are right between God, others and myself. Fruit Three

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

P ATIENCE : I take a long time to overheat and endure patiently under the unavoidable pressures of life. Fruit Four

Proverbs 14:9 A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly

K INDNESS /G OODNESS : I choose to do the right things in my relationships with others. Fruit Five

1 Thessalonians 5:15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else
