Presentation transcript:

P1A have been learning about Celebrations. We talked about the ways we celebrated at Christmas time and how this is similar and different to Chinese New Year.

We learned that houses need to be cleaned before Chinese New Year is celebrated. So we cleaned our classroom.

We made Chinese Lanterns to decorate the classroom.

Some Chinese communities perform dragon and lion dances as part of their celebrations. We made our own dragon puppets.

We have also talked about Birthdays. We found out that Barney (our class bear) hadn't had a birthday before. We decided to give him a surprise party. We made paper chain decorations, birthday cards and birthday hats. We then wrote invitations to our toys to come to the party.
