The Rule of God on Earth “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Matthew 28: 18
Then Jesus Said: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Questions: 1) Of what is Christ the king? 2) What are the implications of this for us?
Are you the king? Read John 18: Questions: –What is Pilate’s question? –How did Jesus respond? –Why did Jesus come into the world? –Is Christ’s kingdom from this world?
The Kingdom for the World Jesus: “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” John 18: 36 N.T. Wright: “It’s quite clear in the text that Jesus’ kingdom doesn’t start with this world. It isn’t a worldly kingdom, but it is for this world. It’s from somewhere else, but it’s for this world.”
Jesus’ kingdom is already established in heaven! Now he will begin to establish his kingdom on earth.
The Lord’s Prayer ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ Matthew 6: 9-13

God’s Holy Ordinances “One desire has been the ruling passion of my life…. That is in spite of all worldly opposition, God’s Holy ordinances shall be established again in the home, in the school, and in the State for the good of the people: to chisel as it were into the conscience of the nation the ordinances of the Lord….” Abraham Kuyper Prime Minister, Holland
Freedom Is the Product of Order In my youth I stressed freedom, and in my old age I stress order. I have made the great discovery that liberty is a product of order.
