The River Po The River Po is located in Italy and runs in the Adriatic Sea. It is a river that flows either 652 km (405 mi) or 682 km (424 mi) – considering the length of the Maira. It is the longest river in Italy.

Animals- Barbel Class: fish Diet: Larvae A slender, long-bodied fish, the barbel has a characteristic high dorsal fin and two pairs of sensory barbels around its fleshy lips this is were it gets its name from.

Importance/usage of the river PROS: The little floods from the river, make the nearby fields soil fertile, helping the crops grow. The River also provides homes for animals. It contains fish, which we can eat. CONS: The River can be used to throw unwanted waste and substance into. The river can flood damaging /hurting buildings,animals and trees around.

Flooding In 2000 nearby fields were under 6ft of water from the River Po, filling the first floor of many nearby houses and killing lots of live stock and ruining crops and grains. This has happened twice since then. Po river- Flooding
