ACCEPTABLE USE POLICIES

 Use network resources for school work only  Always Log-on/Log-off  AUP/RUP training and signature pages are required  Always know where you are saving and printing  Never share your district issued username and password. NETWORK STANDARDS

 Do not reveal personal information.  Scan external media storage devices before use.  Do not use your personal cell phone during the school day. NETWORK STANDARDS

 It is a violation to knowingly attempt to access resources that you don’t have permission to utilize as a student.  Report instances where you have access to data resources that are not appropriate for student use. USE OF DATA

You may lose your computer privileges for:  Misuse of district equipment & resources  Plagiarism  Cyberbullying  Persistent off-task behaviors INTERNET ACCEPTABLE USE

You may not:  install outside software on school computers  access the network with personal devices  use outside Internet on campus (Aircards, etc.)  Access non-district RESTRICTIONS

RESPONSIBLE USE POLICIES

 Choose your online names wisely.  Limit your online “friends” to people you know in real life.  Respect age restrictions and guidelines on websites. RESPECT AND PROTECT YOURSELF

 Set your privacy settings to limit access by strangers  Consider your safety and future college and career goals when posting  Report anything inappropriate to an adult  Keep the lines of communication open with parents and teachers and share your experiences. RESPECT AND PROTECT YOURSELF

 by not “flaming” or forwarding messages that are unkind or inappropriate  by not getting involved in conversations that are unkind, mean or bullying.  by reporting any conversations you see that are unkind, mean or bullying. RESPECT AND PROTECT OTHERS

Avoid websites that:  Are sexually explicit  Portray illegal behaviors  Are racist or disrespectful to other cultures  Do impersonate someone else online or post cruel comments/pictures on social media sites. RESPECT AND PROTECT OTHERS

 Digital piracy is a federal offense  Making illegal copies of music, movies, games and other software that you own is against the law.  Always respect the rights of the copyright holder and cite all sources used in projects. RESPECT AND PROTECT INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

 Learn to evaluate the credibility and accuracy of information on websites.  Keep in mind that hacking into websites is a crime. RESPECT AND PROTECT INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
