IMPROVING STUDENT PERFORMANCE-BEST PRACTICES IN INTERVENTION AND ACCELERATION The University of Texas at Austin Institute for Public School Initiatives Texas Center for Student Success (TCSS)

TCSS Goals © Texas Education Agency/University of Texas System 1. Help Texas public school districts and charter schools meet the Reading Diagnosis requirements as described in the Texas Education Code §28.006g. 2. Assist Texas public school districts and charter schools as they meet accelerated instruction requirements mandated by House Bill 3, passed during the 81st Texas Legislature. 3. Provide districts with exemplar intervention and acceleration practices disseminated through the TEA’s Project Share platform and/or during statewide conferences.

Goals for Today’s Session © Texas Education Agency/University of Texas System 1. Describe the Texas Center for Student Success course within TEA’s Project Share portal. 2. Demonstrate how to use the resources in the TCSS course to implement or enhance intervention and acceleration instructional practices. 3. Provide time to explore and apply the course resources, research, and exemplar contents to your respective school or district.
