Overview The Medeco M100 is ideal for interior doors where greater flexibility or accountability is required, but either the cost or complexity of traditional EAC components is prohibitive. The Medeco M100 eCylinder with Aperio™ technology provides a fast and economical way to upgrade interior doors to access control where greater accountability or access flexibility is required. The M100 is a simple cylinder replacement for an existing mortise- style mechanical cylinder and requires absolutely no wiring or alterations to the door, the frame, or the door hardware. The M100 installs in minutes; completely revolutionizing access control.

Using the M100 Post installation

Using the M100 Card Placement Proper Card Placement This Icon is used to indicate the ‘sweet spot’ for credential placement. Place card/fob directly over icon in an upright position as shown in a subsequent slide for proper read to occur. Note: Improper card placement will result in unsuccessful card reads and customer frustration

Proper Card Placement An easy to remember rule is to place the card behind the knob for 1 second and then remove. Click for demonstration Using the M100 Card Placement

LED Indicator Upon successful card read the LED will illuminate green. LED illuminates for 1 second Using the M100 Successful card read Card denied indication Speaker Upon successful card read the speaker will beep for 1 second

Application Specific Note: The direction that the knob must rotate is determined by the hardware the M100 is being retrofitted into. The M100 can spin 360º+ in either direction. Using the M100 Knob rotation Click for demonstration

Home Position = Knob in an upright position with the Aperio logo right-side up and the knob set-screw pointing down. The knob must be returned to this location every time the lock is unlocked or re-locked. NOTE: Failure to allow the knob to return to the home position for whatever reason will result in a ‘door unlocked’ event to be transmitted to the hub. How the access control system responds to this event is dependent on the type of hub used and the options selected. Local indication of a ‘door unlocked’ condition is the LED will blink red once per second until door is re-locked. Using the M100 Proper resting state Click for demonstration

Most Non-deadbolt applications The majority of hardware for non- deadbolt applications require a less- than-180° rotation. If this is the case with your hardware then rotate the knob either clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the hardware) to unlock the lock and then release the knob. The knob should ‘spring’ back to the home position. Click for demonstration

Most Deadbolt applications NOTE: In some applications it may be possible to get the knob to ‘hang’ in the 180º position due to friction within the lockset. It is up to the user to continue to rotate the knob back to the proper home position. The majority of hardware for deadbolt applications require a more-than-180° rotation. If this is the case with your hardware then rotate the knob either clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the hardware) to unlock the lock and then release the knob. In order for the knob to be returned to the correct ‘Home’ position you must continue to rotate past the 180º mark. In most applications the knob should then ‘spring’ back to the correct position. Click for demonstration

Important items to be aware of Most of the items listed below are typical of any retrofit installation and also covered in our M100 Installation manual: Proper Cam selection critical to proper operation Ensure your hardware is functioning properly – any misalignment of door and hardware can cause unintended results Ensure proper battery orientation
