Class VII – I can do all things through Christ Accomplishing good things is part of God’s plan for us. Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Our accomplishment bring praise to God Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
Parable of the Talents Matthew “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. 15 He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.
Parable of the Talents Entrusted his money to them God believes in you enough to invest in you God believes in you enough to leave the outcome in your hands God believes in you enough not to micro manage the responsibility given to you In proportion to their ability. God has entrusted to you what He believes you can accomplish.
Parable of the Talents God is responsible for providing the money. The opportunities and resources needed for productivity God does not expect us to do above our ability It is our responsibility to develop our abilities
Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength What ever God has entrusted to me I can accomplish it by the strength that Jesus provides I need to trust God’s judgement I need to rely on God To provide the opportunity and resources
Fear and Discouragement These are the two major obstacles to doing what God says we can do. Fear stops us in our tracks. It makes us inactive. 90% of our fears do not come to pass The outcome of the 10% that do occur are far less than what we expected The things you thought would kill has not. False Evidence Appearing Real Fear of failure is the most common fear obstacle
Fear and Discouragement Discouragement results in a desire to give up Why discouragement comes We feel do not have the support we need We feel the we are not having any real impact We do not see the result we desire We feel or see that others are more successful We feel someone else would it better The feedback you get is more about what you are not doing or what you could do better.
Fear and Discouragement For victory over fear and discouragement Remember you answer to God and God alone Remember the promises of God and stand on them Faith is not denial of reality, but it is believing in the reality of what God says. Remember that when God choose you He knew all your issues and all the challenges you would face and He still choose you.
Conclusion God alone is the one who empowers you Philippians 2:13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. God alone is the one we should desire to please Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. God alone is the one who choose you John 15:16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. If we live with these three critical points we will over come fear and discouragement and get our lives together.
